The Securities Lending Oversight Manager is a key leader in the Securities Lending Group at SSGA. In this role, you will leverage your leadership skills, knowledge of governance practices, and a deep expertise in securities lending to design, organize and execute an oversight program for governance of our securities lending programs. You will manage the relationships with the agent lenders, various boards of directors, and work with leaders around SSGA to respond to regulatory, risk, and control matters.

You will be responsible for managing a team that maintains risk controls, develops reporting, and assures compliance with various securities lending regulatory regimes globally. This is a First Line function, requiring diligence not only in anticipating and identifying issues, but also implementing solutions. You will strive to improve controls of the program, and document procedures and best practices, for governance of all lending programs globally.

You will be a representative of the Securities Lending Group and build relationships with Second Line functions throughout SSGA, Boards of Directors, and external Trustees based on your diligence, integrity, and trust.

This role is part of a team that designs, manages, and commercializes SSGA’s securities lending programs to meet client needs. You will report to the Director of Securities Lending at SSGA, and lead the oversight efforts, while contributing to build and maintain the securities lending program at one of the world’s leading asset managers.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage an overseas team of two professionals focused on the monitoring and reporting on our securities lending programs
  • Oversee lending agents in the execution of SSGA managed lending programs
  • Present regularly to Boards of Directors on program performance and risks
  • Manage relationships with internal and external governing bodies
  • Work cross organizationally with key internal parties including legal, compliance, operations, portfolio management and funds management
  • Problem solve complex issues that arise within the securities lending programs and manage the process through resolution
  • Respond to regulatory and audit inquiries
  • Design and manage the governance process
  • Identify weaknesses in our current processes and ideate solutions
  • Respond to regulatory and internal audit requests
  • Take ownership of control environment
  • Develop and maintain business controls
  • Collaborate on product and business development projects
  • Contribute to development of more junior employees and firmwide culture initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of securities lending and business controls experience
  • knowledge of securities lending global regulatory regimes and global fund structures
  • Excellent presentation skills; experience with Fund Boards is important
  • Demonstrated leadership managing a team remotely
  • Solutions oriented mindset
  • Comfort delivering under deadlines
  • High degree of integrity and willingness to speak up and challenge the status quo
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA/CFA preferred

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $167,500 Annual
