Who we are looking for

A Digital Custody Operations Officer for State Street’s Global Delivery Digital Asset Division who has a understanding of ideally both traditional and digital assets operations coupled with large institutional experience. The Digital Custody Operations team is responsible for assisting in the design and ultimate execution of the operational model for State Street’s sub-custody and self-custody within Global Delivery as part of delivering the enterprise strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Officer seeking new challenges, leveraging your existing talents and skills to build the future digital infrastructure of financial markets from the ground up.

You will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of Digital Custody Operations and collaborate with our dedicated Digital teams in Product Development, IT, Business, Governance & Controls, Risk and Compliance plus our State Street Global Delivery teams to effectively service our Institutional client base. In addition, you will have significant opportunities to collaborate with State Street Digital’s external partners and vendors, from early on in the product development cycle right through to testing in our “model office” and implementation within operations.

This unique role requires knowledge of traditional investment services business operations – particularly in multiple areas including custody, payments, trading, securities servicing, client onboarding, compliance and process documentation - as well as a broad understanding of next generation technologies, including distributed ledger technology - DLT, Blockchain, digital custody, cryptocurrencies, digital wallet technology, tokenization and Artificial Intelligence - AI. Previous engagement in business transformation and change management preferred to help grow nascent businesses.

What you will be responsible for

As Digital Custody Operations Officer you will

  • Identify and influence quality control process improvements relevant to the role by challenging the design and implementation of related self- custody processes, procedures and other documentation required for smooth operations
  • Exercise discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance such as operating as a liaison between clients, internal groups and external service providers (e.g. vendors)
  • Execute our Digital in-scope functions in this new cross-functional Digital team employing a risk and controls mindset
  • You will be responsible for understanding and applying operational procedures specific to Digital Custody
  • Build functional and technical knowledge across traditional and digital custody and sub-custody
  • Ensure KPIs are achieved and SLAs needs with our internal partners are meet to deliver seamless day-to-day delivery of services with periodic reviews

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience in operations, business controls, BUAT or client service for traditional and/or digital products for large institutions
  • Understanding of digital assets and/or wallets / distributed ledger technology is preferred
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude and risk mindset
  • Ability to excel when faced with the unknown and challenged to develop new ways
  • Excellent presentation, communications, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Fluent in English – oral and written – is a must
  • Advanced degree or certification(s) in digital (business or technical) – a nice to have
  • Strong sense of ownership and leadership
  • Innate curiosity and desire to learn
  • Nice to Have – working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI

Salary Range:

$60,000 - $90,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
