Who we are looking for
State Street is looking for Junior application developer for the Alpha and Middle Office Technology Team, a part of Global Technology Services. This is a hands-on development position for a candidate who is wiling to learn latest technologies, Financial Services, has supported Front/Middle/Back office business units/clients, and has exposure to Cash Processing.
What you will be responsible for
As Junior Application Developer you will
- Understand and develop user interfaces and server side systems for complex securities and trading softwa Financial Services, has supported Front/Middle/Back office business units/clients, and has exposure to Cash Processing.
- Work closely with internal project teams and be capable of developing code in Java, J2EE, Springboot, Kafka using Microservices architecture
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced (agile) environment similar to a start-up company
- Gain knowledge and get up to speed quickly on all team assignments
- Participate in all team agile-related activities; including but not limited to daily stand-up, sprint planning and re-cap.
What we value
- Basic Experience on software development using Java, Html, Javascript.
- Knowledge on advance technologies like Spring, Springboot, messaging is a plus
- Ability to learn new technologies, public cloud framework and willingness to own and contribute to the project
- Strong Analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills
- Advanced writing skills, including the ability to abstract/summarize highly detailed information
- Ability to translate customer business needs into application requirements
- Possess a strong ability to deliver against specific requirement in a timely fashion on a project by project basis
- Demonstrated planning and scheduling skills
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors' or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Demonstrated experience with programming languages such as Java, J2EE, SQL, Html and JavaScript
- Exposure to Springboot, Messaging (Kafka), Docker/Kubernetes, Microservices architecture is a plus
- Exposure to concepts including: agile/scrum, object oriented programming, software engineering techniques, parallel programming, databases, unit testing, etc.
- Strong work ethic with ability to ramp up quickly
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Exposure to commercial software, developing multi-tier enterprise software solutions
- Any exposure or knowledge of the financial industry is a strong plus, but not required

Salary Range:
$70,000 - $115,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
