Who we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented R&D Tax Credit Manager to lead the identification, documentation, and computation of U.S. Federal and State R&D tax credits. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with IRS regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the R&D credit under IRC §41, experience in financial services, and the ability to translate technical activities into tax-qualifying documentation.
What you will be responsible for
Lead the annual preparation and filing of the U.S. Federal R&D Tax Credit (Form 6765) and applicable state credits.
Collaborate with business units, technology teams, and finance to identify qualified research activities and expenditures.
Partner with advisors to apply the IRS four-part test to assess eligibility of projects and activities.
Develop and maintain robust documentation to support credit claims, including technical narratives, time tracking, and financial substantiation.
Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors, including responding to IRS and state inquiries.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to R&D incentives.
Support internal controls, process improvements, and audit readiness initiatives.
Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Engineering, or related field; CPA or JD preferred.
5+ years of experience in a large corporate or Big 4 environment.
Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and tax compliance software.

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $142,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
