Who we are looking for

The Liability Management Team, a unit of the Chief Investment Office in Global Treasury, plays a critical role in managing the bank’s balance sheet and liquidity, Nostro funding and hedging risk relating to the circa ~$100 billion investment portfolio.

The global funding team is comprised of liability managers across the U.S., Europe and APAC regions.

The candidate will be part of the funding team, working as an Interest Rate Swap specialist with further responsibilities for day to day bank funding, CD issuance, short term funding products and working with the wider CIO team to suggest and implement strategies to hedge risk and optimise the returns on the Investment Portfolio.

This is a visible role, and the individual is expected to collaborate effectively within the team and across organizational functions including Finance, Treasury & Risk.

The candidate will be reporting to the Head of Funding in North America but will have exposure to the whole CIO team and will have the opportunity to share market views, trade ideas and contribute to projects and daily tasks.

What you will be responsible for

  • Responsibilities include market execution of IRS, working with the Portfolio Managers and Chief Investment Officer to develop strategies to optimize the Investment Portfolio interest rate views.
  • Working with capital teams on the decision whether to swap out any long term debt issuance.
  • Working with colleagues on the funding team in managing the Boston branch currency Nostro accounts, executing short date FX swaps, money markets, Fed Funds and other instruments to manage the day to day funding of the bank.
  • Maintaining relationships with market counterparties, FHLB and customers for funding trades including CD issuance.
  • Working with various stake holders to see if more instruments could be added to the CIO toolbox.
  • Working with the Liquidity Team on any funding and stress testing strategies

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc from a quantitative discipline, economics, or finance degree
  • 8+ years previous relevant experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation building skills
  • Analytical skills with an innovative and solution orientation approach to problems.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $187,500 Annual
