Who we are looking for

We are looking for a hands-on Test Automation Lead with a strong track record delivering scalable test automation in large, client-facing transformation programs. Reporting to the global head of automation, you will help manage the team’s central automation team, providing technical leadership whilst partnering with functional testers and delivery teams across front, middle, and back office applications. You will need strong experience in automation strategy, a deep understanding of modern test tooling and frameworks (including robotics and GenAI use cases) and are comfortable operating across cloud-native and on-prem environments.

Why this role is important to us

Alpha is the industry’s first interoperable front-to-back platform connecting data, applications, and operations across State Street, Charles River Development, clients, and partners. Robust, automated end-to-end testing, is essential to accelerate implementation timelines, increase reliability, and provide consistent, repeatable client experience.

What you will be responsible for

  • Design, implement, and maintain a modular, reusable test automation framework centered on UiPath Test Suite (incl. RPA test automation, orchestrations, and GenAI-assisted test generation/analysis).
  • Integrate API, UI, data, and workflow automation to validate complex cross-application processes and data lineage.
  • Collaborate with functional Test Leads, application developers and technical SMEs to embed test automation early and effectively in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Lead the planning, execution and reporting of automated test activities across Alpha client implementations.
  • Define and promote standards, tools, and best practices for test automation, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Define and track quality cost of automation, coupled with capturing quantitative and qualitative return on investment (ROI) metrics across client implementations.
  • Estimate automation effort, manage capacity and budget-to-actuals, and handle change control for automation scope.
  • Prioritize high-value candidates for automation using risk-based, data-driven methods.
  • Drive defect prevention via root-cause analysis and observability (structured logs, dashboards).
  • Mentor automation engineers and functional testers, fostering capability growth and continuous improvement.

What we value

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and leading test automation in complex enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with UiPath Test Suite and familiarity with RPA/GenAI use cases in testing.
  • Strong grounding in software engineering for tests: Git, branching, code review, dependency management
  • Experience automating API, UI, data, and workflow tests across cloud-native and on-prem systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and pragmatic approach to problem solving and team collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery and tooling (e.g., Jira, Xray, Confluence)
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills; comfortable in fast-paced, distributed delivery contexts
  • Understanding of portfolio management/trading workflows and risk/control frameworks (useful but not essential)

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. MBA preferred, but not necessary.
  • 5-10 years experience leading test automation / project teams consisting of employees, contractors, and partner organizations.
  • 10-15 years of financial and/or technology transformation experience.
