OVERVIEW:

Join a team dedicated to extending credit products to existing and potential clients of State Street. Your work will contribute to maintaining and growing our relationships – the heart and soul of State Street’s strategy.

The Global Credit Finance (GCF) division is made up of approximately 150 employees in various locations across the globe. It provides a range of credit lending products to potential and existing clients of State Street. The business extends credit to clients from a wide range of products and industries including Fund Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Leveraged Loans, Municipal Finance and Stable Value Wrap.

The incoming AVP on the Boston team would work in the Fund Finance group supporting credit provided to Regulated Mutual Funds. The Regulated Mutual Funds Team (aka Real Money Funds Team) is a key driver of revenue for the division totaling $25B of commitments. Many of the team’s clients are part of larger valuable relationships with State Street Bank. The team is responsible for analyzing the credit, negotiating legal documents and fostering strong client relationships.

The candidate should possess a positive attitude and strong credit and analytical skills. The successful candidate will have an ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and to work on participations in syndicated, bilateral or agented credit facilities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and preparation of written credit analyses, reports, summaries and opinions for credit approval ensuring smooth and timely processing of assigned credit requests.
  • Assist in the structuring, underwriting, negotiating and managing of credit arrangements for new business and renewals of existing credit arrangements for assigned transactions.
  • Assist with the management of a portfolio of credit facilities, including regular reviews to track financial performance, collateral and covenant compliance, escalating any breaches or concerns.
  • Provide effective credit portfolio oversight and management reporting.
  • Communicate effectively on specific business initiatives and transactions.
  • Work closely with the MD and VPs in loan structuring, decision making and loan legal documentation.
  • Attend due diligence client meetings and assist with the maintenance of client credit relationships.
  • Collaborate with GCF Loan Operations and GCF Middle Office on various issues.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidate should possess Fund Finance lending industry knowledge and experience in credit analysis, structuring and underwriting.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of credit analysis experience and minimum of 2+ years lending experience.
  • Credit Training a plus.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience in credit markets, loan structuring, risk assessment, and legal documentation.
  • Strong analytical, credit underwriting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and ability to present and explain complex transactions.
  • A positive attitude, a client service mindset and high level of attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with KYC/AML.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Salesforce experience is desirable.
  • Capability to meet tight deadlines.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $142,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
