Who we are looking for

Capital Management, a unit of Global Treasury, is seeking an individual to be responsible for supporting various analytics and internal / external relationships for our Capital planning and strategy team.

Why this role is important to us

Capital Management (a division of Global Treasury) plays a critical role in State Street’s organization, both from a business-as-usual (BAU) perspective and with regard to regulatory capital requirements. Functional areas include capital planning and forecasting, strategy, stress testing, recovery and resolution planning and project management. Capital Management is a key business partner for all client-facing business units, sales teams, and relationship managers.

The candidate will gain foundational experience in many of the key pillars of the capital management function. The candidate will assist in the baseline capital team’s strategic effort to model, analyze, and oversee State Street’s capital profile and rating agency relationship. The individual is expected to collaborate effectively within the immediate team, key external relationships, as well as across organizational functions with business units, Finance, Treasury, Risk, and IT to access knowledge, expertise and guidance.

What you will be responsible for

As a Capital Management Analyst, AVP, you will:

  • Support the analytics and modeling for various capital strategy efforts across the Bank
  • Provide analytical support to address complex regulatory challenges as well as any ad-hoc requests
  • Assist in managing State Street’s rating agency relationships by prepping meetings, coordinating materials, preparing capital presentations, as well providing analytical support for our rating agency counterparts
  • Conduct quantitative analysis and create presentations for key decision-makers within Global Treasury and throughout the Bank
  • Support annual and ad-hoc stress testing through analysis, baseline presentation preparation, capital plan preparation, as well as 14A template support
  • Maintaining risk excellence by challenging assumptions, escalating potential issues and executing required controls to support oversight and governance requirements

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of State Street’s capital profile, core business lines, P&L, and balance sheet a plus

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; Degree in the field of Finance, Accounting or Economics a plus
  • 3-5+ years of experience in the financial services industry

Salary Range:

$80,000 - $132,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
