Role Description:

The Global Securities Lending Oversight Manager is a key leader within the Securities Lending Group at State Street Investment Management. In this role, you will design and implement an oversight program to ensure strong governance of global securities lending activities. You will manage relationships with agent lenders, boards of directors, trustees, and internal teams, serving as a trusted representative of the Securities Lending Group.

This position requires a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions that strengthen risk controls and governance practices. You will ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, document procedures and best practices, and deliver critical management reporting to State Street Investment Management’s senior most committees.

As part of the first line of defense, you will report directly to the Program Development Manager, COO of the State Street Investment Management Securities Lending Team and lead oversight of securities lending globally. Your efforts will be used to enhance securities lending strategy and commercialize our securities lending programs for our client’s needs while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and control.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the oversight of lending agents and ensure the effective execution of State Street’s managed lending programs.
  • Deliver regular presentations to Boards of Directors, clearly communicating program performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with internal and external governing bodies, including agent lenders, boards, and trustees.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, compliance, operations, investment management, and funds management teams to address regulatory, risk, and control matters.
  • Proactively identify and resolve complex issues within the securities lending programs, driving process improvements and stakeholder alignment.
  • Respond to regulatory and audit inquiries with diligence and professionalism.
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance governance processes and business controls.
  • Take ownership of the business control environment, ensuring best practices and robust documentation.
  • Contribute to product and business development initiatives, supporting the growth and commercialization of the securities lending platform.
  • Mentor junior team members and champion firmwide culture initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of securities lending and business controls experience
  • knowledge of securities lending global regulatory regimes and global fund structures
  • Excellent presentation skills including board of directors presentations
  • Demonstrated leadership managing direct reports
  • Solutions oriented mindset
  • Comfort delivering under deadlines
  • Impeccable integrity and willingness to speak up
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA/CFA preferred

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $188,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
