The State Street Global Privacy Office is hiring for an Assistant Vice President to join our global team. The position is to be located in the USA and will report to a Vice President within the Privacy Office.

What you will be responsible for
As an Assistant Vice President within the Privacy Office, your primary responsibilities will be:
- Handling and advising on personal data incidents within the Americas.
- Processing Data Subject Rights Requests received under privacy laws.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of centralized Global Privacy Office processes and procedures covering all regulatory requirements governing Privacy and Data Protection of personal data, with a focus on requirements on Americas.
- Identify emerging trends in the regulatory environment and contribute to the open and collaborative communication of the same to ensure regulatory information is shared across key functions in a timely manner
- Aid in the identification of, and resolution planning for, various risk and compliance issues, breaches and potentially suspicious activities; open compliance issues when appropriate
- Track and monitor compliance issue resolution plans and work in conjunction with Compliance, business and/or functional unit partners to help ensure accuracy of accountabilities and adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Participate in the establishment and implementation of compliance training and education programs to keep business and/or functional unit personnel appraised of compliance policies and regulatory obligations
- Cultivate effective relationships with internal business partners to maintain engagement
- Provide support to Global Privacy Office colleagues on matters relating to other jurisdictions as required
What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role
- Privacy and/or IT and/or Audit/Compliance professional with strong operational focus with several years of related experience
- Understanding of compliance control procedures, preferably IT controls in addition to operational controls
- Ideally familiarity with the three lines of defense model, regulated environments and Information Technology Control Frameworks
- Strong IT proficiency, in particular with Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
- Flexible approach and a strong team player
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
- Must have a customer service work ethic with the ability to interact comfortably with all levels of the organization
- Ability to collaborate and influence colleagues
- Proactive approach to problem solving and ability to adapt to shifting priorities, meet deadlines and execute in a fast-paced environment
- Able to juggle conflicting demands and prioritize effectively
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant privacy, IT, audit and/or financial services certifications from a recognized professional body beneficial
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $140,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
