Who we are looking for

The Investment Services CAO reports to Investment Services Chief of Staff, and plays a critical role in the daily management of any and all administrative aspects of Investment Services Organization (IS). S/he is responsible for all daily support to IS businesses to execute against its strategic and tactical initiatives, providing operational and administrative leadership at the heart of the organization. The IS CAO acts as the central point of contact for business management across IS globally, providing management support, and is responsible for engaging all business management functions for daily execution and delivery. The IS CAO ensures strategic alignment and consistency of messaging within their unit, and will have a central role in sustaining operational excellence across the executive office. S/he is also a conduit of information flow to other functions across the bank and coordinates with IS business partners (e.g. finance, HR) and other CAOs across the corporation. The IS CAO will act as a trusted partner to the IS Chief of Staff to deliver critical operational and administrative support, drive strategic change, and help the wider IS leadership navigate complex and fast-moving organizational challenges with clarity and pace. The individual will bring strong execution discipline, operational insight, and organisational leadership to help shape, support, and advance the long‑term success of Investment Services.

What you will be responsible for

  • Acts as representative / proxy for the IS Chief of Staff or the Head of IS on necessary committees
  • Manages key strategic messaging to all partners (e.g. board of directors, board committees, clients, rating agencies, employees, etc.), in conjunction with Internal Communication partners
  • Responsible for leading critical strategic initiatives, including the expense saving initiatives and the headcount budget and approval process in coordination with the CAO central teams
  • Manages the administration, scheduling, and content coordination / creation for all standard senior executive forums for which the Unit Head is the lead or chair
  • Manages strategic, tactical, and ad-hoc projects (e.g. business strategy, transformation, and cross-functional initiatives)
  • Collaborates seamlessly and builds strong, trust based relationships across the IS Leadership Team and their direct reports to advance a wide range of business-critical initiatives
  • Partners closely with IS Head’s Executive Assistant – Ensures that requested meetings are booked, follow-ups are closed out, and ad-hoc items are addressed in a timely manner (in addition to other standard, regular meetings)
  • Supports the completion of the Executive performance review processes (e.g. EVP Scorecards, EVP/MC Self-Assessment, snapshots, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR and the BU CAO to manage the mid-year forecast and/or budget processes for IS as well as team capacity and resource allocation/staffing and resource pipelines
  • Develops or manages the global footprint strategy for IS, in collaboration with the BU CAOs
  • Directs the workforce development needs of IS including training and engagement
  • Actively attends all meetings associated with the CAO practice area and upholds consistent service delivery
  • Leverage AI tools (including Copilot) to drive process and operational efficiencies, and develop appropriate use cases to support the increased adoption of AI

What we value

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Asset Services business; prior experience in the business a plus
  • Previously led global strategic transformation projects in a complex multi-jurisdictional and regulated environment, including (people/location/legal entity)
  • Deep expertise with executive administration and business operations, with demonstrable experience delivering MI/reporting, governance forums, business reviews and performance management frameworks
  • Proven track record of collaborating with senior leaders to strengthen organizational performance and elevate operational excellence
  • Strong drive and execution rigor, with an ability to take ownership of projects and strategic initiatives to consistently deliver outcomes
  • Strong project management, quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills and highly financially literate
  • Experience dealing with financial and workforce data and driving strategy around this data
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word and a familiarity with the application of AI tools including Copilot
  • High emotional intelligence, impeccable business judgement and an ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to act as a trusted counsel to the IS Chief of Staff and other senior IS leaders, balancing challenge with partnership
  • Experienced people manager with experience overseeing multi-jurisdictional teams in complex/regulated global environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral to all levels of an organization

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 18+ years significant relevant business experience; extensive BU experience within CAO, business management or strategy functions, with prior experience in consultancy, business analysis or project delivery
  • Master’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field, with professional qualification (e.g CPA, CFA, ACCA) strongly preferred

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $267,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
