Since the 1970’s, Agency Securities Lending has been a core business unit within State Street Markets (“SSM”). With over $5 trillion in lendable assets and an extensive global operating model, State Street’s Agency Lending program is recognized as one of the premier programs in the world, recently recognized as both the Global and Americas Lender of the Year, respectively, and for the ESG Initiative of the Year, by Securities Finance Times (Excellence Awards).

As a strategic & visionary leader you will oversee the entire global business and report directly to the Head of Financing & Portfolio Solutions, work closely with the SSM senior leadership team, and liaise collaboratively with cross-business and cross-organizational support functions (e.g., Institutional Services, Investment Management, Global Client Division, Legal, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, etc).

What you will be responsible for

As Global Head of Agency Securities Lending you will:

  • Develop and drive the execution of strategic priorities and financial budgets, generating alpha for clients while executing against clearly defined revenue, expense, and return on capital metrics and milestones
  • Deliver highly valued solutions to clients, ensuring comprehensive and consistent delivery of services as their needs evolve
  • Work closely with other senior managers to execute business unit strategy, product and geographic expansion efforts, and a scalable technology and operating model solution
  • Ensure State Street delivers a world class product as measured by market share, client satisfaction scores and various industry rankings
  • Develop strategic relationships with key client contacts and ensures State Street is viewed as an integral, long-term partner
  • Dynamically foster a culture encouraging innovation and collaboration, especially between headquarters and all regional offices
  • Represent State Street in key industry forums relating to securities financing
  • Create a risk and compliance culture that ensures adherence with applicable regulatory provisions, internal and external audit reviews, and overall risk controls
  • Develop and socializes thought leadership and brand awareness via tactical and strategic marketing plan
  • Effectively develop, motivate, and retains a high caliber, diverse, team across NA, EMEA and APAC, measured via employee engagement scores

The Head of Agency Securities Lending requires senior leadership and advanced skills including:

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic business, financial performance, and exemplary client satisfaction results
  • Proven skillset in translation of industry / client themes and trends into actionable strategy, partnering effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituents
  • Ability to lead, prioritize and execute on multiple, simultaneous priorities and initiatives
  • Exceptional talent development capabilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of market dynamics and regulatory landscape
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of Financial Services experience, preferably with extensive Securities Lending background
  • MBA, CFA, or similar, strongly preferred
  • Experience leading a high performing, global team
  • Experience running a securities financing franchise at scale
  • Significant ownership of tier-1 beneficial owner relationships

Salary Range:

$300,000 - $337,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
