Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced AVP‑level Business Analyst with deep expertise in risk data, regulatory data, and enterprise data platforms, who can operate effectively at the intersection of Risk, Technology, and Control functions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor, a clear understanding of regulatory and risk data needs, and the ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into well‑defined, implementable solutions.
Why this role is important to us
Given the enterprise‑wide reliance on risk data for reporting to management, committees, and regulators, this role is vital to protecting the firm from data‑related risk and ensuring that ERM Risk IT delivers trusted, well‑controlled risk data platforms
This role plays an important role in maintaining risk data warehouse as well as onboarding new data feeds for newly onboarded product offering or booking site.
What you will be responsible for
As an AVP Business Analyst within ERM Risk IT, you will play a critical role in shaping, governing, and enabling the firm’s Risk Data Repository and related risk data platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring that business, regulatory, and risk requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and translated into high‑quality, well‑controlled technology solutions.
Your responsibilities will include
- Lead the analysis and definition of business and regulatory requirements for the Risk Data Repository and its upstream and downstream consumers
- write Technical FSDs, use case docs
- Conduct Walkthrough within IT team (Developers and SQA team members)
- Conduct functional testing
- Work with new source systems for new service onboarding
- Writing Source to Target mapping specifications
- Identify opportunities to improve requirement quality, data governance, and analysis practices within ERM Risk IT.
- Contribute to the evolution of standard templates, data definitions, and best practices for risk data analysis
What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role
- A commitment to accuracy, consistency, and clarity in risk data definitions, mappings, and requirements. We value analysts who understand that small ambiguities in data or rules can translate into material risk at the enterprise level.
- An appreciation for operating in a highly regulated environment, where requirements must be well‑documented, traceable, and defensible. We value a mindset that naturally considers auditability, lineage, and evidence.
- Analysts who take responsibility for ensuring requirements are complete, understood, and implemented as intended—from initial analysis through delivery and adoption.
- The ability to evaluate complex problems, challenge assumptions constructively, and apply sound judgment when navigating trade‑offs between business needs, regulatory expectations, and technical constraints.
- The ability to articulate complex risk and data concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including Risk, Technology, Audit, and senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach that builds trust across Risk, Technology, Architecture, and Delivery teams. We value individuals who can influence outcomes without formal authority.
- The ability to think methodically and at the same time understand the broader enterprise risk context in which the Risk Data Repository operates.
- An interest in improving how risk data requirements are captured, governed, and delivered, contributing to stronger platforms and more resilient risk capabilities over time
- Good Knowledge of financial products
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
- 8–12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Analyst supporting enterprise technology initiatives in a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong experience working with risk data, reference data, or enterprise data platforms, preferably supporting ERM, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, or Regulatory Reporting functions.
- Demonstrated experience supporting initiatives driven by regulatory requirements, audit findings, or remediation programs.
- Solid understanding of risk data governance, data lineage, data quality, and control concepts, including expectations aligned with risk data aggregation and reporting principles (e.g., BCBS 239).
- Experience translating complex business and regulatory needs into functional requirements, data specifications, business rules, and validation criteria.
- Familiarity with large‑scale data platforms and architectures (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, inbound/outbound data feeds).
- Experience partnering with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Technology, Architecture, and Data Engineering teams in a matrixed environment.
- Strong documentation skills, with experience producing artifacts suitable for regulatory review and audit scrutiny.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or structured delivery models.
- Professional certifications (CBAP, PMI‑PBA, FRM, or similar) are a plus.
