Position Overview

State Street’s Global Product organization is undergoing a period of significant transformation to enhance scalability, transparency, and commercial performance across the Alternatives business.

The Vice President – Alternatives Product Control will play a critical role in driving financial discipline, governance, and operational effectiveness across the Product organization. Reporting to the Head of Product Control, this role partners closely with Product, Finance, CAO, HR, and Technology teams to support strategic decision-making, improve reporting and analytics, and enable growth across Private Markets and Custody product offerings.

This role combines financial oversight, governance leadership, and business management responsibilities, with a strong focus on enhancing product economics (P&L, cost to serve, pricing) and building scalable frameworks to support a global, complex organization.

Primary Responsibilities

As the Alternatives Product Controls Manager (VP), you will

  • Lead executive reporting and governance for the Alternatives business, including scorecards, business reviews, and senior leadership materials
  • Drive Product Control agenda, including P&L oversight (revenue, fees, NII), cost-to-serve analysis, and commercial insights
  • Develop and enhance product-level financial tools and analytics (pricing, risk, cost, and performance metrics)
  • Partner with Finance, CAO, and IT to address business questions and improve financial transparency and reporting accuracy
  • Conduct strategic and risk deep dives, providing insights to inform business and investment decisions
  • Support workforce planning, headcount management, and broader people initiatives in partnership with HR and leadership
  • Manage budgeting and execution of marketing sponsorships and industry engagement activities
  • Oversee sales enablement and client engagement initiatives, including RFP process improvements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including development of data tools, frameworks, and scalable reporting solutions
  • Lead or contribute to Product organization management activities, including OKRs, strategy execution, and operational governance
  • Collaborate across global teams to improve expense allocation transparency and drive efficiency
  • Foster employee engagement, culture, and communication across a global organization

Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
  • 7–10+ years of experience in financial services, asset servicing, or securities services
  • Experience in Product, Finance, Business Management, or Product Control functions
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong analytical and presentation skills required
  • Experience with financial modeling, P&L management, and cost allocation frameworks
  • Familiarity with product control frameworks, governance, and management reporting
  • Experience working within Product organizations and supporting strategic initiatives
  • Strong team player with ability to thrive in a global, matrixed environment
  • Alternatives experience and knowledge is helpful

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $188,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
