We are currently hiring for a Relationship Manager, AVP role within State Street Investment Management’s Client Coverage Group. This position supports our Defined Contribution (DC) Intermediary team with a focus on Recordkeeper and Direct relationships including oversight of onboardings, client change events and day-to-day relationship management. This individual will collaborate closely with internal partners across sales, investments, finance, operations, and data teams to support growth and ensure a strong end‑to‑end client experience across the DC Intermediary and Recordkeeper landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Support client relationships across SSIM’s Direct Business and Recordkeeping platforms developing a strong understanding of SSIM’s investment capabilities, operating model, service offerings, and strategic priorities within the DC landscape.
- Serve as a trusted internal and external partner on recordkeeper relationships to support new product offerings, changes in operational processes and evolutions in service models.
- Ownership of the onboarding process and ongoing client relationship management for DC Intermediary clients and Recordkeeper relationships ensuring an optimal client experience and client retention.
- Lead direct client portfolio reviews and performance updates.
- Acts as “quarterback” for complex client needs.
- Responsible for client communication around change events (manager changes, glidepath updates, restructures)
- Partner closely with DC National Account Managers to support recordkeeper home office engagement, due diligence coordination, platform initiatives, and ongoing account management.
- Coordinate and participate in recordkeeper governance meetings, performance updates, and platform discussions.
- Coordination across Investments, Legal, Operations, Reporting, and Onboarding
- Demonstrate strong judgment, risk awareness, and ethical standards in all client and internal interactions.
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- FINRA Series 3, 7, and 63 licenses required (or must be obtained, within 6 months after hire date)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an institutional client-facing role at an asset management firm
- Comprehension of firm capabilities and services to deliver solutions supporting client goals
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.
- Effective communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Comfort working on complex operational projects.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team goals and take on expanding responsibility over time.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects with a focus on client needs.
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $140,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
