The SVP, Global Head of Resiliency External Engagement and regional head of the Americas is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the our external resiliency engagement strategy. This includes fostering partnerships, managing relationships with external stakeholders, and ensuring that the organization meets or exceeds industry standards and regulatory expectations for operational resilience. The role involves driving collaborations with external partners, regulatory bodies, third-party vendors, and industry consortia to fortify the organization’s ability to withstand and recover from disruptions.
The role includes providing leadership, engagement and oversight to State Street internally (all State Street and legal entity businesses, subsidiaries and affiliates in the Americas), to our clients and with our regulators on all matters related to Resiliency. They will lead a team of professionals who will partner with our client teams to help to drive revenue retention and growth by overseeing all resiliency related client interactions. The interactions to include client due diligence efforts and inquiries, client and internal presentations, advising on resiliency risks associated with business operating models and coming to agreement on contractual resiliency terms, commitments and the negotiation of contractual resiliency terms including emerging requirements such as DORA. They will also support our business in evaluating the resiliency risks associated with business strategy including operating model reviews, merger and acquisition activity, strategic locations, joint venture & strategic partnerships. This role requires effective communication and active listening skills. The successful candidate must be able to engage with clients to convey the value and integrity of our programs, which drive global resilience for State Street, while strengthening our client’s confidence in our resilience posture.
What you will be responsible for
As a Global Head of Resiliency External Engagement and regional head of the Americas, you will:
Manage a team of professionals who represent the Enterprise Resiliency Office to internal teams across the three lines of defense and externally to clients.
Engage with and guide client-facing teams in response to resiliency related questions; partner with them to respond to client inquires and commitments; set expectations
Deliver presentations and resiliency program overviews internally and to clients
Consult and approve contract language pertaining to operational resilience and business continuity, including contractual commitments for information and document-sharing
Monitor and report on client engagement metrics
Partner with all corporate teams that contribute to the firm’s resilience to drive a coordinated and consistent response to clients
Support RFP process for resiliency and business continuity
Support and participate in joint tabletop exercises with clients
Act as the regional head of the Enterprise Resiliency Office (ERO) in the Americas, providing local leadership for the ERO team and working with key local stakeholders including executive and operational leads
Maintain awareness of current and emerging regulatory requirements and expectations and resiliency best practices
Partner with senior leaders to enable informed risk decisions providing them all relevant content necessary to formulate a prioritized path forward.
Develop and lead the global external resiliency engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with the State Street’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Act as the key liaison between the organization and external parties on all matters related to operational resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
Represent the organization in industry forums, working groups, and regulatory discussions, advocating for best practices in resilience.
Experience:
Extensive relevant experience in a similar role
Proven ability to lead and influence global teams and transformational initiatives in large, complex, multinational organizations, in highly regulated financial services industry.
Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across diverse teams and stakeholders, both internal and external.
In-depth knowledge of relevant global regulations, ideally resilience related.
Detailed understanding of non-financial risk frameworks.
Experience of working in a servicing business and/or a client centric organization, carrying material payments and settlements risk.
Experience working with external auditors, regulators, and industry bodies.
Experience presenting to senior executive stakeholder and relevant committees.
Salary Range:
$225 000 - $337 500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
