The Regulatory Reporting Governance and Risk Advisory lead, Vice President will serve as a senior Business Risk and Control leader supporting activities within State Street’s Regulatory Reporting team. This role partners closely across the three lines of defense and acts as a trusted advisor to senior business leadership driving the execution of Business Risk Management programs, design of strong internal control environment and mitigation of operational and compliance risk.

In addition, the Vice President leads the governance framework for Regulatory Reporting, overseeing attestation, policy ownership, and risk reporting to ensure regulatory submissions are accurate, compliant, and aligned with internal controls. This role maintains the integrity of the regulatory reporting control environment—ensuring key risks are identified, escalated, and managed to meet regulatory obligations and avoid compliance failures.

The Corporate Finance Business Risk Team acts as a valued partner to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) businesses in the identification, assessment and mitigation of risk in effort to achieve risk excellence objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Reporting Governance

  • Lead a team responsible for executing the governance framework of the Regulatory Reporting requirements including policy oversight, key report attestation programs, committee oversight and control framework
  • Establish and maintain a set of policies and guidelines in line with industry best practices to ensure the global regulatory reports address key risks
  • Drive an enhanced governance framework including defining structured criteria for determining risk-tiering of reports
  • Lead Regulatory Reporting Oversight Committee responsible for approval and governance of regulatory reporting requirements
  • Responsible for coordinating quarterly CFO attestation process for multiple key regulatory reports
  • Lead responses to regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews affecting Regulatory Reporting

Business Risk Leadership

  • Provide business and compliance risk strategy and oversight to the Regulatory Reporting function within Corporate Finance
  • Serve as a Culture Champion for Risk Excellence by leading regular business unit aligned Risk Forums, identifying emerging risks, supporting self-identification of issues, recognizing training needs and operating as the primary point of escalation for any non-financial risk concerns in the business unit
  • Lead business unit applicable risk assessments, operational key risk indicator (ORKI) identification and oversight, and resulting control design and implementation activities
  • Support and participate in key transformation initiatives related to Business Risk Management organizational design
  • Act as a credible risk partner to Regulatory Reporting leadership, with the ability to challenge constructively
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders across Finance, Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and Technology
  • Contribute to governance forums, risk committees, and senior management discussions
  • Mentor junior team members to develop a collaborative and challenging team environment focused on development and growth and promote a culture of risk excellence and accountability

Risk & Control Framework

  • Design, enhance, and oversee end‑to‑end control frameworks across front‑to‑back regulatory reporting and associated data lineage
  • Own or support remediation of control gaps, operational risk incidents, and regulatory findings, ensuring sustainable and well‑documented solutions
  • Partner with upstream and downstream data providers to assess control impacts from system changes and process transformations

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, management, or a related field and minimum of 10+ years’ experience ideally covering risk identification and assessment (Risk Excellence), compliance and/or audit
  • Strong written and verbal communication; Ability to communicate with and influence all levels of management
  • Ability to manage a small team of junior risk professionals
  • Financial product and institutional knowledge
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to work independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated ability to develop highly functioning business relationships and coordinate stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, responsive and be able to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once, including quick turn-around high priority items
  • Experience in Regulatory Reporting programs or matters is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $188,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
