The Head of Investment Accounting Engineering will lead the design, development, and operation of a modern, cloud native, scalable investment accounting platform supporting multi-asset class accounting, data management, controls, and reporting across global investment operations. This platform will operate at global, multi-tenant scale and must support petabyte-scale data processing, high-throughput event handling, and strict financial correctness guarantees. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineering leader with deep expertise in cloud architecture (especially Azure), distributed computing, investment accounting capabilities, data architecture, and enterprise platform modernization within enterprise capital markets and asset servicing environments.
The ideal candidate combines strong domain knowledge in enterprise investment accounting (e.g., ABOR/IBOR, event processing, corporate actions, reconciliations, cash management), technical excellence, and strategic leadership to scale teams, processes, and build platforms that enable accuracy, scalability, transparency, and auditability.

Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the long-term vision and platform strategy for a next-generation investment accounting product
Lead engineering teams building accounting platform components including accounting engines, rules frameworks, event processing, reconciliation, and reporting services.
Drive selection and adoption of technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Kafka, Postgres, Kubernetes, Redis or similar) aligned with business requirements and cloud‑native best practices.
Leverage AI tools and vendors to drive builds and create easily maintainable systems
Drive adoption of AI-led engineering practices (e.g., agent-based development, automated testing, code generation)
Develop embedded AI capabilities within accounting workflows (e.g., reconciliation, anomaly detection, data access)
Implement cloud-native, event-driven architectures enabling real-time processing capabilities.
Deliver against tight platform-level SLOs/SLIs for availability, latency, and data correctness, and ensure systems are designed for resilience, fault tolerance, and deterministic processing
Ensure platform incorporates highly automated DevOps, Implementation, Product Security and SaaS operations models
Partner with Product and Operations to define accounting data models, SLAs, and controls.
Lead integration across front, middle, and back-office systems.
Fulfill all banking controls, auditability, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Build, mentor, and scale a multi‑disciplinary engineering organization attracting top engineers.
Represent engineering strategy to executive leadership, aligning with firm goals.
Partner with with Finance, FinOps, and Architecture teams to meet/exceed all budget requirements for the product
Required Qualifications
20+ years of software engineering experience, including 10+ years in investment accounting or financial platforms.
Proven experience delivering large-scale finance/accounting platforms.
Deep knowledge of accounting processes, NAV, reconciliations, and multi-asset support.
Experience with cloud-native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
Hands‑on background in modern DevOps, Product Security and DataOps practices: CI/CD, container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure automation, and observability.
Hands on experience working with and implementing AI tools (LLMs, Agents, etc)
Familiarity with security, regulatory and compliance frameworks
Strong people‑leadership skills: team building, coaching, and creating high‑performance cultures across geographies.
Experience partnering with multiple enterprise application teams in global settings to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
Experience working with Finance and Product teams to estimate, gain approval of, and meet budget / P&L targets
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executives.
Preferred Experience
Experience with enterprise accounting and OMS platforms such as Aladdin, Geneva, or SimCorp.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements.
Experience with large-scale onboarding and migration programs.
Engineering or Finance degree.

Salary Range:
$170,000 - $282,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
