Who we are looking for

State Street is seeking an experienced and execution-oriented leader to serve as Managing Director, Head of AI Product Management & Portfolio Execution.

This role will lead the operational management of State Street's enterprise AI portfolio, ensuring that high-value opportunities are identified, prioritized, developed, deployed, and adopted across the organization.

The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of business, technology, and product management, partnering with senior stakeholders to transform AI opportunities into scalable products and measurable business outcomes. The role will be accountable for portfolio execution, use case intake, product governance, delivery oversight, adoption management, and portfolio performance reporting.

This is an ideal opportunity for a leader with experience building and scaling AI, digital, data, or technology product portfolios within large, complex organizations.

What You Will Be Responsible For

AI Portfolio Management

  • Lead the enterprise intake and evaluation process for AI and Data-driven opportunities.
  • Establish and manage a transparent portfolio prioritization framework.
  • Partner with business leaders to assess strategic alignment, feasibility, risk, and value potential.
  • Maintain visibility across the full lifecycle of the AI portfolio from ideation through production deployment.
  • Drive portfolio reviews and investment recommendation processes.

Product Management Leadership

  • Establish product management disciplines across AI products, use cases, and capabilities.
  • Partner with engineering, data, and business teams to define product vision, requirements, adoption goals, and success measures.
  • Support roadmap development and execution for AI-enabled products and capabilities.
  • Ensure products are managed with a focus on user adoption, business outcomes, and long-term scalability.

Delivery Governance & Execution

  • Oversee execution of AI initiatives across multiple business functions.
  • Manage delivery governance, milestone tracking, dependency management, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across business teams, engineering teams, architecture, risk, compliance, and operations.
  • Escalate risks and remove barriers to successful execution.

Production Deployment & Adoption

  • Drive the transition of AI initiatives from pilot and proof-of-concept stages into production.
  • Monitor adoption, utilization, and business impact.
  • Partner with change management and business stakeholders to support organizational adoption.
  • Track realized versus planned outcomes and identify opportunities for optimization.

Value Measurement & Reporting

  • Define and monitor portfolio performance metrics.
  • Develop executive dashboards and portfolio reporting.
  • Measure progress against delivery commitments, adoption targets, and business value objectives.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support investment and prioritization decisions.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Required

  • 12+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, technology transformation, digital platforms, AI, or related fields.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for enterprise-scale product delivery or portfolio execution.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex technology initiatives across multiple business functions.
  • Experience working with senior business and technology executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within financial services, asset management, banking, capital markets, or fintech organizations.
  • Experience leading AI, machine learning, Generative AI, or digital transformation portfolios.
  • Understanding of modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and AI ecosystems.
  • MBA or advanced degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field.

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $282,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
