The SSGA Vendor Management function, as part of the SSGA COO organization, liaise with SSGA business and partners with State Street center-led Third-Party Management Office along the end-to-end external vendor lifecycle, including Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program, procurement sourcing and contracting, vendor setup and onboarding, invoice payment processing, and vendor ongoing monitoring, while supporting SSGA’s business owning vendor risks and performance management.

Third Party Risk Management is a global cross-functional initiative, inclusive of all Business Units and Legal Entities. The program requires significant involvement from the first line of defense (business) with on-going monitoring of their third parties activities to the second line of defense providing governance and oversight accordingly. There are regulatory requirements related to continuous monitoring and ongoing oversight of a Business Unit's Vendor population.

Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) sets forth the requirement for business units within State Street Global Advisors to assess the risk management functions associated with outsourcing business activities by implementing controls to mitigate risks associated with the product(s) and/or service(s). SSGA’s usage of third party providers is an integral part of maintaining a competitive edge within our industry. These relationships can present various types of inherent risk that require management and monitoring throughout the lifecycle of the engagement(s).


Business Analysis and Strategy Planning:

  • Supports risk oversight management of third party vendors for SSGA
  • Builds and maintains subject matter expertise within SSGA’s Procurement and TPRM team
  • Helps support the creation of both BAU and strategic initiatives and plans to define and implement Third Party Risk Management for the SSGA business
  • Produces relevant reports for executive management and internal business partners
  • Collaborate with business and other stakeholders and manage the escalation and resolution of key vendor issues
  • Partner with TPRM and Procurement corporate functions to facilitate SSGA business’ vendor onboarding
  • Assess vendor risk and products/services offering, manage vendor contract execution, and guide vendor onboarding and subsequent risk management cycle
  • Work with State Street TPRM to continuously monitor vendor risks and oversee enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished.
  • Develop deep knowledge of State Street third party management process and identify corporate center-led vendor onboarding, contracting and engagement process enhancement to increase operational efficiency and reduce SSGA business overhead across the entire vendor cycle

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a relationship manager engaging business leads and peers, interfaces with senior leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization; ensures service quality and customer satisfaction
  • Supports relationships with both internal and external clients and business partners
  • Proactively identify and mitigate vendor risk
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Documents and assist with issues and risks as they arise
  • Interface with and support key stakeholders across the organization; ensures service quality and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in working groups among Business Stakeholders, Vendor Management Teams, Engagement Managers, Procurement, TPRM, Legal and Technology teams to create synergies
  • Provide guidance and support to State Streets Procurement and Third Party Risk Management program by responding and adhering to new and existing regulatory guidelines and initiatives and further mature the internal risk management functions

Qualifications:

  • Procurement, Third Party Risk Management and / or project management experience
  • Strong relationship management with demonstrated ability to work across business lines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact and influence peers and managers
  • Strong analytical skill set and decision making abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
