Senior Network Engineer (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts): Will function as a hands-on, well rounded network engineer. Specific duties include: Design operational standards for firewall configurations, network change requests, documentation, and performance troubleshooting procedures; Maintain a secure and auditable firewall configuration using policy-based configuration management tools such as FireMon or Tufin; Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting network performance issues, including coordinating efforts between clients, vendors, and other internal teams; Design, implement, and maintain a proactive network performance monitoring strategy; Work closely with Product and Information Security teams on the network design improvements, development, and operation of secure online services; Provide trusted advice to management on network security architecture and operational improvements; Evaluate emerging network and firewall management tools and other related products; Perform various IT system support and system administration tasks as needed; Be self-motivated and flexible, ability to prioritize and multi-task on multiple highly visible and complex projects; Work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines; Maintain expert knowledge and experience with network security standards; and able to work within a defined change management process and willingness to participate in periodic after-hours scheduled maintenance. Full-time telecommuting permitted pursuant to Company policy.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical engineering, or related field of study with network engineering focus, plus 5 years of experience as a network engineering or network security professional with a focus on network architecture, implementation, and support. Alternatively, Master's degree, or equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical engineering, or related field of study with network engineering focus, plus 3 years of experience as a network engineering or network security professional with a focus on network architecture, implementation, and support.

Total experience above must include at least 3 years of IT operational support experience. Must also have the following: Proven experience with general firewall configuration and support, including IPSec VPN configuration and troubleshooting; Proven experience with load balancing appliances and software; Strong understanding of network best practices for securing online applications; Strong experience in network traffic monitoring, analysis, packet capture, and troubleshooting; Prior experience installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP; Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS); Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model; Proven experience with host and network based security across multiple architectures and platforms; Proven solid knowledge of and experience with cloud computing concepts and application security architecture; Proficiency with one or more scripting languages, automation and DevOps tools; and excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills with an ability to represent complex data in executive level graphical reporting dashboards. Unless otherwise indicated, State Street is seeking the stated ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years or amount of experience required. Salary Range:

$139,901 - $180,000 Annual
