State Street’s Global Credit Finance (GCF) division has established an Operational Risk and Compliance function which adds value to the business in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk. The function provides oversight of the business’ compliance with corporate and unit policies and procedures, while focusing on the risk excellence objectives established by business leadership. This position is well suited for an action oriented individual with experience in business process analysis, managing multiple priorities, and who has a strong interest in building their risk and compliance knowledge.

What you will be responsible for

As a Global Credit Finance (GCF) Operational Risk and Compliance Vice President, you will:

  • Design, implement, and run the GCF End User Developed Tools and model oversight function, to improve first line governance, strengthen internal controls, and enable efficient tool management within the organization

  • Capture business feedback as well as lessons learned from each EUDT program review; update the EUDT program, accordingly, noting certain reoccurring themes that warrant executive management’s attention.

  • Participate in the assessment, implementation, and adherence to policies, procedures and guidelines prescribed by corporate functions and business partners such as Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and Corporate Information Security.

  • Deliver exceptional client service and maintain all related activities in an organized and consistent manner

  • Participate in risk management programs including product risk assessments (RCSA, MRI), issue and incident management and remediation, and key risk indicator reporting

  • Provide support to business change initiatives and any related remediation of control gaps and deficiencies

  • Work with Global Credit Finance teams, the Business Risk function, and well as second and third lines of defense to identify process/control gaps

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Independent strategic thinking with an understanding of regulatory, operational, market, and technology risks in financial services; lending, a plus

  • Proven experience in influencing, negotiation, and relationship management

  • Experience in model risk governance, oversight, and controls within a banking environment

  • Effective communication skills, with experience of preparing and presenting documents and committee papers

  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and solid critical thinking skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail

  • Familiarity with Tableau, MS Suite, including Excel Power BI and Power Automate

  • Understanding of change management

  • An understanding of the types of models used within a lending organization, including where model risks may arise

  • An understanding of model development, validation and implementation processes

  • Project management

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $167,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
