Description

The Senior Reporting and Analytics Developer with will be a key contributor the development of clear and well-structured plans that will be integral in shaping the University's data infrastructure, reporting, and analytics platforms and services. This position will provide data collection, management, analysis, and reporting services such as Argos Enterprise Reporting, Power BI, Excel, and other query/reporting tools. Working closely with others, this position will design, develop, and test reporting solutions that meet enterprise needs for decision making as well as independently analyze reporting requirements, enterprise data models, and data integration to deliver enterprise-level solutions. The ability to communicate effectively across multiple technical and non-technical business units is extremely important, as this position will collaborate with functional teams across campus to identify and address reporting needs. This position will oversee the activities of other analysts as assigned, to ensure the efficient and standardized execution of their duties.

Essential Duties:
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, Enrollment Services, Academic departments, and other users and potential users to determine requirements that address reporting and analytical needs.
  • Collect, analyze and report institutional data in the form of standardized reports, special analyses, rankings, and research reports.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot reports, ensure data accuracy and timeliness, and provide interpretation and analysis of data for business management at regular intervals to guide strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Effectively utilize reporting tools such as the Argos Reporting Environment, the Ellucian Operational Data Store (ODS), Power BI, and other Reporting and Analytical platforms that may be used at the University.
  • Recommended and socialize best practices, standards, and development strategies in enterprise reporting and analytical tools (Example: Agile approach).
  • Develop and maintain documentation on analysis and reporting deliverables.
  • Collaborate and provide input to new technology opportunities that will have an impact on the enterprise-wide reporting and analytics systems.
Marginal Duties:
  • Engage with third party system and applications as assigned.
  • Assist in system integrations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline from an accredited College or University or equivalent education and experience.
  • 4 years of data analytics/report writing experience.
  • Experience with relational database structures.
  • Expertise in Power BI Report Development and SQL Programming required.
  • Experience supporting Ellucian Colleague and knowledge of Ellucian database schemas preferred.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge in server, storage, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to resolve problems effectively, efficiently, as a team member and/or independently

  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and provide well-vetted reporting and business recommendations.
  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Enthusiastic service orientation with sensitivity to the needs of users at all skill levels while maintaining a high level of customer service standards.
  • Maintain a professional and tactful approach in all interactions, ensuring confidentiality and an individual's right to privacy regarding appropriate information.
  • Ability to travel as needed to participate in professional meetings, conferences, and events (minimal).
  • Ensure compliance with professional and technology standards, license and regulatory requirements, and Western New England University standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as necessary.
Hours:
  • Normal work hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm daily.
  • Additional hours as needed to complete tasks and assignments on schedule.
