The Department of English, Communication, Culture, and Art at Western New England University invites applications to fill openings for Adjunct Professor of English in the fall 2025 semester.

The department seeks a candidate who can teach at least two in-person sections of a first-year composition course. First-year composition courses focus on teaching critical reading and academic writing skills, including developing a sensitivity to language and writing, mastering citation and documentation skills, and critically assessing one's own writing as well as that of others. Particular attention is given to the importance of thesis, evidence, audience, and thoughtful revision. Courses are scheduled either three days per week (MWF) for 50 minutes or two days per week (MW or TTH) for 80 minutes. A standard syllabus template and frameworks for required assignments will be provided.

Successful candidates must have at least a Master's degree in English, Composition, or a related subject; prior experience teaching undergraduate students; and a demonstrable dedication to student success.
